This larkspur flower is called Violet in Vietnamese language because of its beautiful bright purple color. Before New Year's eve, we like to buy a bundle of Violet flowers to decorate our houses (especially the ancestors altars).
Today I got some flesh cut Violet from a farmer's garden. Look at how happy she is 😁!

近頃、あたりを見渡すと一際目立つ赤色のお花が増えてきましたね。赤だけではなく、白も！
一体どんなお花なのでしょうか？
彼岸花とは、秋の彼岸の期間だけに花を咲かせることに由来して名付けられました。
まず花が咲き、後から葉っぱが伸びるという通常の草花とは逆の生態をもっており、その葉と花を一緒に見ることがない性質から「葉見ず花見ず」と呼ばれ、昔の人は恐れをなして、死人花や地獄花などと呼ぶこともありました。
色別の花言葉
・白色：思うはあなた一人／また会う日を楽しみに
・赤色：情熱／独立／再開／あきらめ／悲しい思い出 ／思うはあなた一人／また会う日を楽しみに
・黄色：追想／深い思いやりの心／悲しい思い出
彼岸花は、その印象的な赤い花色から「情熱」「思うのはあなた一人」といった花言葉が生まれたといわれています。
しかし、花色や花姿が炎を連想させることや、彼岸花のもつ毒、彼岸花にまつわる恐ろしい迷信がいくつかあることから不吉な花イメージがついているそうです。贈り物にはえらばれない！
彼岸花の球根は毒があります。地中に潜むモグラやネズミは、他の植物の根はかじっても、彼岸花のものはかじらないと言われています。
大刀洗の田畑は彼岸花が守っているのですね！
不吉なイメージがあったとしても、町を鮮やかに彩り、田畑を守る彼岸花。素敵です🌾
